„I hardly remember the infection itself, only the beginning. I just had finished work and was about to leave the company building when I suddenly felt a bit dazed and absent. It didn’t feel like the usual fatigue after a long day of work. It was more profound, disarming in a way. So instead of taking the stairs as usual, I took the elevator to get out as quickly as possible. What I remember next is that I was slowly but surely experiencing strange distortions of reality. Already on the way to the main exit I noticed that the floor and walls were moving in different directions and when I had passed through the revolving door downstairs, I was suddenly standing on the roof of the building. In fact, immediately at the front edge, looking down on the city, this grim colossus. You can imagine I was startled, shocked; yet intrigued. From this point on the top, you can see over the whole city, even though the view was quite unusual. A light breeze blew around my heavy head and the skyscrapers…they breathed. The streets were covered with something that looked like dark, leathery skin, while the buildings were sprinkled with colorful glowing sparks and strips. And the air…I remember it smelled sort of metallic. The last thing I remember is the proximate presence of something huge and terrifying, and suddenly I could feel “it” arise. At this point, my memories fade.“
